Medicine worth Tk 65 lakh seized at Dhaka airport

Customs intelligence seized huge medicines brought illegally from abroad at Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport in the capital on Wednesday.
The medicines were seized from three bags of a passenger named Mohammad Sayeed. He came from Kuwait by a flight of Kuwait Airways (KU 285) at about 10.30am.
Omar Momin, Assistant Commissioner of the customs House, said Sayeed fled the airport leaving his three bags.
After checking the bags at about 12:30pm, they recovered some 44,678 pieces of medicine for treatment of cancer. The medicine were worth about 65 lakh.
The man brought the medicines violating import policy, Momin said.
