The process to recruit gatemen at around 2000 unmanned level crossings is going on, and it will be completed within a few months.

Railway Secretary Firoz Salah Uddin made the statement while visiting Divisional Railway Office in Lalmonirhat on Monday.

The secretary said the railway line will be reconstructed in Mogholhat to facilitate communications for travellers and transportation of goods between India-Bangladesh.

Feroz also visited Mogholhat Railway Station which remained shut down for years.

The Mogholhat-Lalmonirhat and Lalmonirhat-Burimari railway would bring rapid change in the railway sector between Bangladesh and India as this region is geographically important for flourishing business, he added.

Railway General Manager (Western Zone) Khayrul Alam and other high officials of the railway were present during the visit.
