Book distribution festival held in districts

Book distribution festival was held across the country amid much enthusiasm among students, guardians and teachers on Sunday.
BHOLA: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Md Selim Uddin, as chief guest, inaugurated the festival by distributing new books among the students of Bhola Government School in the morning.
At that time, Headmaster of the school Shankar Kumar Pal and senior journalist Md Abu Taher were also present.
The government will distribute 15,23,000 books in primary and 34,40,200 books in secondary schools of the district.
JESSORE: DC Dr Humayun Kabir inaugurated the ceremony at Jessore Government Girls School at 10am. Later, he took part in similar functions at different schools in Chougachha upazila.
Besides, upazila nirbahi officers also inaugurated the distribution in respective upazilas.
In the first day, 15,53,944 books in primary level and 44,11,175 books in secondary level were distributed.   
KHULNA: The distribution was started at Khulna Zila School. Lawmaker of Khulna-2 constituency Mizanur Rahman Mizan inaugurated the programme as chief guest.
A total of 2 crore 42 lakh 62 thousand and 117 books have been distributed among 18 lakh 7 thousand and 162 students in Khulna region while 36 crore 21 lakh 82 thousand and 117 books have been distributed among 4 crore 26 lakh 35 thousand and 929 students across the country.
Deputy Director of the Department of Secondary and Higher Secondary Education, Khulna region T M Zakir Hossain presided over the programme.
At that time, Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Khulna Range Police SM Moniruzzaman, Additional Divisional Commissioner (General) Md. Faruk Hossain, Chairman of Khulna Zila Parishad Sheikh Harun-ur-Rashid, Deputy Commissioner of Khulna Nazmul Ahsan, President of Sadar upazila Awami League Advocate Saiful Alam, Headmaster of Zila School Md. Ariful Islam and District Education Officer Khandaker Ruhul Amin, were also present.
KISHOREGANJ: On the occasion, a total of 74.10 lakh text books were distributed among 9.86 lakh pre-primary to secondary level students.
DC Md. Azimuddin Biswas formally inaugurated the ceremony by distributing books to the students at Government Adarsha Shishu Biddaloy in the town on Sunday morning.
District Primary Education Officer Md. Sazzad Hossain presided over the function.
Among others, Mayor of Kishoreganj Municipality Md. Pervaz Miah, District Education Officer AKM Shajahan, Deputy Director of Social Services Department Mohammad Rabiul Islam, General Secretary of Kishoreganj Press Club Saiful Malek Chowdhury, senior journalist Subir Basak, President of Consumers Association of Bangladesh (CAB), district unit Alam Sarowar Tito, journalists Sakauddin Ahmed Rajon, Mostafa Kamal, and Ashraful Islam were also present on the occasion.
LAXMIPUR: Lawmaker of Laxmipur Sadar constituency AKM Shajahan Kamal, MP, was chief guest in the book distribution ceremony at Collector School and College in the town.
DC Md Zillur Rahman Chowdhury presided over the function while Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Sheikh Murshidul Islam and Principal of Collector School and College Ranjit Pal were present as special guests in the event.
Besides, other schools in the town and across the district also observed the distribution.
MANIKGANJ: State Minister for Health and Family Welfare and local lawmaker Zahid Malek Swapan distributed books among the students at SK Government Girls School in the morning.
At that time, DC Rashida Ferdous, Police Super Mahfuzur Rahman, BPM, Civil Surgeon Dr Imran Ali, Mayor of Manikganj Municipality Gazi Kamrul Huda Selim, Public Prosecutor Abdus Salam, Joint Secretary of district Awami League Sultanul Azam Apple, President of Manikganj Chamber of Commerce and Industries Sudeb Saha, General Secretary of district Red Crescent Society Israfil Hossen, Headmistress of SK Government Girls School Rebeka Jahan, Officer-in-Charge of Manikganj Police Station Md Aminur Rahman, and Municipality Councillor Subhas Sarker were also present.   
NARAIL: DC Helal Mahmud Sharif inaugurated the festival through distributing new books among the students of Narail Government High School on Sunday morning.
At that time, Headmistress of the school Monira Sultana and teachers, guardians and students were also present.
NETRAKONA: DC Dr Md Mushfiqur Rahman inaugurated the distribution ceremony by distributing new text books among the students of Netrakona Ideal Girls School, Datta High School, Netrakona Government Girls High School and Anjuman Ideal Government High School in the morning.
At that time, Police Super Joydeb Chowdhury, District Education Officer Md Waliullah and teachers of the respective schools were also present.
Education Officer Md Waliullah said, in the first phase, 19,89,321 books among 4.40 lakh primary school students and 30,66,992 books among 2,26,992 secondary level students will be distributed.
PABNA: DC Rekha Rani Balo inaugurated the ceremony as chief guest at Pabna Zila School in the morning.
Acting Headmaster of Pabna Zila School Harun-ur-Rashid chaired the event while Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer Kaisarul Islam and District Primary Education Officer Abdus Salam attended the ceremony as special guests.
A total 3 lakh 880 students will get the books in the district.
RANGAMATI: Chairman of Rangamati Zila Parishad Briso Ketu Chakma inaugurated the ceremony by distributing books among the students at New Rangamati Government Primary School in the morning.
Later, he also inaugurated the distribution at Banarupa Government Primary School.
Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Manzaul Mannan inaugurated the distribution at Rangamati Senior Madrasa.
Veteran journalist Sunil Kanti Dey distributed books at Rangamati Shishu Niketon.
This year, 4,98,789 books in primary level and 1,84,450 books in secondary level are being distributed in 10 upazilas of the
district.
