Sayedul Hoque, Obaidul Karim acquitted

A Dhaka court acquitted Fisheries and Livestock Minister Muhammad Sayedul Hoque and Orion Group Chairman Obaidul Karim of a graft case as the state failed to prove the corruption allegation.

Judge Aminul Hoque of  Special Sessions Judge Court -4 passed the order on Tuesday.

When Sayedul Hoque was a member of  parliament from Bhramonbaria-1, he imported a duty-free car and sold it out to Obaidul Karim, which caused to a loss of Tk 85,55,680 to the state.

The incident took place between September 22, 2004 and July 11, 2007. Deputy Director of Anti Corruption Commission Abdul Karim filed a corruption case with Tejgaon thana on August 9, 2007.
