Workshop on ‘Effective Teaching of English’ at IU

IU CorrespondentA day-long workshop on 'Effective Teaching of English: Best Practice' held at Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia on Saturday aimed at enhancing skill among the English department teachers. It was jointly organized by the Bangladesh English Language Teaching Association (BELTA) and English department of the university at the central auditorium around 10:00am.
IU Pro-Vice Chancellor Professor M Shahinoor Rahman as chief guest and Harun-Ur Rashid Khan, president of Bangladesh English Language Teaching Association (BELTA) as special guest were present while Professor Aktarul Islam Zillu presided over the programme.
Professor M Mamunur Rahman conducted the workshop while President of Bangladesh School, Sohar-Oman, Gazi Abdur Rahman and Assistant Professor of North South University M Samsuzzaman addressed here as keynote speaker of the day long programme.
More than two hundred teachers of English department from different universities, colleges, schools and madrasahs of Khulna Division were present.
Addressing the workshop, the speakers said that success of both teaching and learning bank on the skillfulness of the teachers and students. We have to be expert through teaching and learning English, if we want to make a digital Bangladesh, they added
It is mentionable that the workshop was sponsored by the American Centre, US Embassy, Dhaka.
