SCB Chairman to attend Asian Shippers’ Alliance meeting
Chairman of Shippers' Council of Bangladesh (SCB) Md Rezaul Karim, also Vice-chairman of Asian Shippers' Alliance, will leave Dhaka towards Netherland today (Sunday).
The SCB chairman will attend the Asian Shippers' Alliance and Global Shippers' Alliance Meeting on March 18-20, 2019 at NH Barbizon Palace Hotel in Amsterdam, said a press release.
European Shippers' Council (ESC) has organized the three-day meeting.
The meeting will discuss on Maritime issues: BER, detention and demurrage, competition, terminal surcharges, low Sulphur, accidents and lashing; GSA policy activities 2019; Air freight issues: Capacity and IATA slot policy, update on TIACA activities and IATA world cargo symposium, sustainability; E-commerce, Policy agenda 2019; International cooperation (GSA-GSF) and Membership issues.
Apart from Bangladesh, Hong Kong, Indonesia, Thai, Korea Shippers' Council and Macau, China, Shenzen Shippers' Association and representatives of American Association of Exporters and Importers will also attend the meeting.
SCB Director Arzu Rahman Bhuiyan will accompany the council's chairman and they are expected to return home on March 29, 2019.
