Huge market in Australia for Bangladeshi leather goods
Bangladesh leather goods have a good market in Australia if exporters can follow the local market compliance here to seize the opportunity, said leaders of Australia Bangladesh Chamber of Commerce and Industry (ABCCI) on Tuesday in the city.
They came up with the observation at a meeting with Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun at his office, said a press release.
Additional Secretary of the Industries Ministry Begum Parag and ABCCI President Obaidur Rahman, Vice President Nessar M Khan, General Secretary Shakil Ahmed Khan and Board member Mohiuddin Ahmed Mahin were present among others on the occasion.
The minister said Australia is one of the important business destination and development partners of Bangladesh. He said Australian entrepreneurs have already expressed interest in investing in the country's shipbuilding sector.
He urged ABCCI to encourage the Australian entrepreneurs to invest in Bangladesh's sugar industry. "They can also invest in different sectors of the economy, including agro-processing industry, information and technology and leather," he added.
