BASIS SoftExpo-2019 opens in city Tuesday

A three-day BASIS SoftExpo-2019 begins on March 19 at International Convention City Bashundhara (ICCB) with the motto technology for prosperity, organisers said.
It will be a unique event to see the gathering of big ICT companies, personalities, key policy makers, industry leaders and other ICT stakeholders to showcase the capability of Bangladesh's ICT sector, achieved over the past year.
 The disclosure came on Saturday from BASIS (Bangladesh Association of Software and Information Services) President Syed Almas Kabir, Senior Vice President and Convener of SoftExpo 2019 Farhana A Rahman, Vice President (Admin) Shoeb Ahmed Masud, Vice President (Finance) Mushfiqur Rahman in a press conference held in the city.
This is an annual event that makes the largest showcasing of IT and ITES products and services in the country's private sector. More than 250 national and international IT companies will be showcasing their product and services this year in the mega event.
The Expo has been divided into 10 individual zones. New Addition Industry 4.0 Zone, Experience Zone will uplift Bangladesh's ICT Sector growth and development. There will be VAT Zone, Digital Education Zone, Women Zone, FinTech Zone and as usual Software Showcasing Zone, Mobile Innovation Zone, Digital Commerce Zone, ITES & BPO Zone. Also, business to business matchmaking session would be a unique opportunity in this event.
There will be corporate meeting opportunity in which more than 500 corporate high officials will participate to discussion. Also there will be ICT Career Camp for the students. It will also organize the  largest Gaming Fest.
BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir said, the fair will help the local IT companies to expand their business. 250 exhibitors will participate this year. SoftExpo is the platform to showcase the capability of local software companies in the international arena.
Farhana A Rahman said: the country is progressing towards the pathway of Digital Bangladesh as local market is expanding. That's why it has included new zones. Women Zone has been added to inspire Women Entrepreneurs. For students there will be CV Box in every Exhibiting Stall. This year organizers have got a tremendous response from all over, she said.
