RAJSHAHI, Feb 13: The nomination papers of 16 candidates in upazila parishad polls have been cancelled after scrutiny on Tuesday.
Deputy Commissioner and Returning Officer Abdul Kader scrutinised the nomination papers of the candidates at his conference room.
Candidates for the posts of chairman, vice-chairman and female vice-chairman were also present at that time.
Of them, five candidates of chairman posts, five of vice-chairman posts and six of female vice-chairman posts were cancelled. In the eight upazilas of Rajshahi, 90 candidates collected their nomination papers to contest in the upazila parishad polls.
