Man, son among 3 killed in accident on Postagola Bridge

Three people, including a man and his son, were killed in a road accident on Bangladesh-China Friendship Bridge, commonly known as Postagola bridge, in city's Shyampur area on Tuesday evening.
Deceased Bachchu Mia, 60, his son Zobayed, 28, were the residents of Ikuria Muslim Nagar area in Keraniganj, on the outskirts of Dhaka, and Syed Ahmed, 30, used to reside at Kadamtal of Keraniganj. Syed Ahmed hailed from Damudda area of Shariatpur.
Shyampur Police Station officer in-charge Mizanur Rahman confirmed the matter.
The OC said a bus of 'Salsabil Paribahan' rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw on the bridge around 6:00am, leaving three passengers of the latter dead on the spot.
Among the deceased, Bachchu Mia was going to a hospital in Postogola to treat his sick son Zubayet when the accident took place, quoting family members, police said.
The bodies were sent to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue, the OC added.
