Rajshahi dwellers urged to keep footpath clean

RAJSHAHI, Dec 8: Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation (RCC) AHM Khairuzzaman Liton on Thursday sought cooperation of the city dwellers to keep the local footpaths clean and free.
He also urged the dwellers to raise awareness in this connection. RCC has been conducting extensive programmes to inspire citizens about keeping footpaths and roadsides clean and free. In this connection, various programmes, like public awareness campaigns, miking, notification to religious institutions, and distribution of leaflets and dustbin were conducted.
At that time, Mayor Liton visited different areas, including Alupotti point, City College, Rajshahi College, Malopara, Bhuban Mohan Park, Nazmul Haque High School, and New Market Road. During the visit, he asked traders not to keep their shops' belongings on footpaths. He also urged the roadside traders to leave the sidewalks free for people's easy movement.
Among others, Ward Councillors Abdul Momen and Touhidul Haque Sumon, City Awami League (AL) Organising Secretary Azizul Alam Bentu, and Metropolitan AL Relief and Social Welfare Secretary Firoz Kabir Sentu were also present.
