Teenager killed over playing cricket

A teenage boy was killed allegedly by his friend following a conflict over playing cricket in Sadar upazila of Pabna district on Friday noon.

Deceased Hamim Hossain, 15, was son of Tofazzal Hossain, a resident of Charghoshpur village in the upazila.

Goutam Kumar Biswas, additional superintendent of Pabna Police confirmed the matter.

The police official said one Anik Hossain, 20, locked into an altercation with Hamim and other friends at 12:00 noon when they kept him out of match. At one stage, he stabbed Hamim with a knife. He stabbed another friend Wazed also as he wanted to obstruct him, leaving the duo critically injured.

They were rushed to Pabna General Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared Hamim dead.
