A female physician was killed in a road accident in Dhaka's Bijoy Swarani area early Tuesday.

Deceased Akter Zahan Rumpa, 28, was an ophthalmologist at an eye hospital in Osmaninagar of Sylhet.

Daughter of Aktaruzzaman, she hailed from Halishahar of Chattogram district.

Tejgaon Police Station sub-inspector (SI) Minhaz Uddin confirmed the matter, reports a Bangla online newspaper.

A bus of 'Green-line Paribahan' rammed into a CNG-run auto-rickshaw, leaving its driver and passenger Rumpa critically injured.

They were rushed to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on-duty doctors declared Rumpa dead around 5:15 am.

Rumpa came to Dhaka to attend an interview at 'Shyamoli Eye Hospital', said Mohsin Faruque, a relative of the victim.
