Imran Rahman

Life is a river
Ceaselessly runs to flood,
With murmur it turns
Sometimes full of water,
Sometimes milk,
Sometimes wine full to the brink,
Sometimesin blood I had the drink
Yet unquenched,
Methinks on that day my heart will cry
In your empty bottle,
With every thirst feeling dry.

The poet is a journalist and columnist
