Vote re-casting in 9 polling stations of BCC Saturday
Re-election or re–vote casting of 9 polling center at 6 wards of Barishal City Corporation (BCC) will be held Saturday.
Vote casting there was stopped by the Election Commission officials due to untoward incident including rigging during BCC election on July 30.
A Total of 25 thousand 517 voters of 6 wards will cast their votes to elect 6 councilors and 3 reserved woman councilors. EC officials took measures for holding vote in a free and fair atmosphere.
The 9 centres are one center of Ward no. 1, one center at Ward 14, three centers at Ward-17, two centers of ward-22, one center of ward 23 and one center of Ward-22.
19 councilor candidates and 15 female reserve councilor candidate are contesting in the election, but two candidates-- Saiful Ahasan Azim of ward 22 and Jahangir Molla of ward 24 boycotted the re-election.
Nine magistrates and huge contingent of police and RAB members will conduct their duty during election at 9 polling centers.
