BCB reveals ODI squad ahead of Zimbabwe series
Soumya, Mosaddek, Mominul dropped and Saifuddin, Rabbi recalled
The Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) announced a 15-member One Day International (ODI) squad on Thursday ahead of the three-match series against Zimbabwe, which is scheduled to commence on October 21.
Nothing exceptional that Mashrafe-Bin Mortaza will captain the team while Mahmudullah will possibly play the role of vice-captain in Shakib Al Hasans' dearth.
The ace all-rounder Shakib Al Hasan and dashing opener Tamim Iqbal remained sidelined for injuries.
Skipper of Bangladesh Test and T20i squad Shakib had a finger surgery couple of weeks back and will go under blade for another as soon as possible, who returned home from the UAE without completing Asia Cup mission with internal pain since the condition deteriorated. Bangladesh opening batsman Tamim Iqbal, on the other hand, returned home from the United Arab Emirates sustaining wrist injury in the inaugural match of the ACC Asia Cup between Bangladesh and Sri Lanka on September 15, who is now going through rehab process.
Although Mashrafe Bin Mortaza, Mushfiqur Rahim, Mahmudullah Riyad, Mehedi Miraz and Nazmul Islam Shanto are also sustained injuries but they recovered too quick to play against Zimbabwe.
Mithun, who got maiden call in the Asia Cup squad and proved his ability with couple of half centuries, is considered for upcoming series. T20i specialist Ariful Haque also called in the Tigers ODI tent.
Imrul Kayes was dropped from the initial squad of the Asia Cup, who later on called in during the midway of the tournament, is also kept in.
Soumya Sarkar joined Bangladesh Asia Cup squad on emergency basis as well, who had been dropped for bellow par performance. Mominul Haque Showrab and Mosaddek Hossain Shaikat have been dropped from Tigers' Asia Cup troop.
Two pace bowling all-rounders Saifuddin and Fazle Rabbi have been reconsidered in the Tigers squad after couple of series intervals.

First Test will take place from November 3 to 7 followed by the second Test from November 11 to 15 at Sylhet International Cricket Stadium Sylhet and Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium, Dhaka respectively.
