42nd death anniversary of national poet observed in Barishal

The observance of 42nd death anniversary of National Poet Kazi Nazrul Islam ended on Saturday night in Barishal city.

Participants of the programme paid heartiest tributes to the rebel poet for his revolutionary role in life, literature and culture of the nation.

To mark the day Nazrul Sangiskritic Jote (NSJ) of Barisal organized discussion on life and works of the poet and staged cultural functions with songs, and discussion on his works at Ashwini Kumar Hall.

Deputy Commissioner of Barisal Md. Habibur Rahaman was present at the programme as a chief guest. Papia Jesmin, NSJ president presided over the meeting.

Among others, Kajol Ghosh, Tapankar Chakrabarty, and Gopal Krishna Guha Ripon and central leaders addressed the programme.

Bangladesh Nazrul Sangeet Sangtsa (BNSS) organizing Secretary Mahamudul Hasan and trainer of Chyanat  Md. Tanvir Hasan were present as special guests.

A Nazrul Sangit programme ‘Tobu Amare Debona Vulitay’ was held after the discussion.
