Two killed in road mishaps in two districts
Two persons were killed in separate road accidents in two districts- Gazipur and Gopalganj, on Tuesday.
GAZIPUR: A motorcyclist was killed in an accident on Dhaka-Mymensingh highway on Mawna flyover in Sreepur Upazila on Tuesday noon.
The deceased was identified as Nayeem Ahmed, 24, son of late Mojibor Rahman of Bhangnahati Village in Sreepur Municipality and an electrician.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mawna Highway Police Station (PS) Delwar Hossen said an unknown vehicle dashed the biker on the flyover, leaving him seriously injured.
Patrol policemen rescued and rushed him to Al Hera Hospital in Mawna Chourasta area where he was declared dead.
The body was handed over to family members without autopsy.
GOPALGANJ: A schoolboy was crushed under a microbus on Dhaka-Khulna highway at Dasherhat area in Muksudpur Upazila on Tuesday noon.
The deceased was identified as Kinjor Roy, 12, a student of class three of Muksudpur No. 177 B K Government Primary School and son of Pijush Roy of the area.
Muksudpur PS OC Mostofa Kamal Pasha said the boy was crossing the road near their house when a Dhaka-bound microbus ran over him, leaving him dead on the spot.
Police recovered and handed over the body to family members.
