Work for public safety, IGP asks new recruits
Inspector General of Police (IGP) Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary on Tuesday asked the new police officers to work for public safety rising above greed and nepotism.
The IGP asked them to serve the country and work for the welfare of the people facing all hindrances.
Dr Mohammad Javed Patwary was addressing the closing ceremony of a 5-day orientation course of the newly appointed Assistant Superintendents of Police (ASPs) of the 36th BCS (Police) cadre in the conference room of the Police Headquarters.
He said protection of people's lives and property, controlling the crime and detection of the unlawful act is one of the main responsibilities of police. He directed the new ASPs to perform their duties with professionalism.
At the beginning of his speech, the IGP paid rich tributes to Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman saying that Bangabandhu liberated the country with the aim of creating 'Sonar Bangla'. -UNB
