Holy Ashura, a very significant day in Islamic calendar, will be observed in the country on September 21 as the Muharram moon was not sighted in Bangladesh sky on Monday.
The decision was taken at a meeting of the National Moon Sighting Committee held at the conference room of Islamic Foundation's Baitul Mukarram office, after reviewing reports on the sighting of the Muharram moon, reports UNB.
The Arabic month of Zilhajj will end on September 11 and the counting of Muharram will begin on September 12, said an Islamic Foundation press release.
