A girl's too much time spending on WhatsApp caused cancellation of her wedding.

The groom refused to marry the bride on the wedding day, scheduled for September 5, alleging that she spent too much time on WhatsApp.

The groom family of Amroha area in India's Uttar Pradesh said the girl was “not good as she uses too much WhatsApp”.

“We were waiting for the groom's family, when they did not turn up, then we went to their house," said the bride's father Urooj Mehandi.

He said, "They refused to marry my daughter alleging that she is not good as she spent too much time on WhatsApp."

Later, they agreed for the Nikah in response to our request but demanded a dowry of Rs 65 lakh, he alleged.

Amroha SP Vipin Tada said they have received a complaint in this matter and a probe is currently underway, reports India based ANI.
