5 Cox's Bazar schoolboys go missing

Five schoolboys of two schools in the tourist resort Cox's Bazar district town remained missing since Sunday morning, creating concern among the families and teachers.

Among the missing students, four are : Syed Nakib of class VII, and HA Galib Uddin, Shahriar Kamal Shakib and Safin Nur of class VIII at Cox's Bazar High School.

The identity of another student of Poura Preparatory High School could not be known yet.

Guardians of missing Shakib and Shafin, who are cousins, said the duo went out of their homes around 11:00am for schools, but did not return.

Zahir Uddin, father of missing Nakib, said his son did neither attend coaching classes nor the school.  

"But, he has taken Tk 600 as private tuition fees. I talked to him at 11am," he added.

Galib's father said his son went out of home at 12:00pm but since then he remained missing.

Ram Mohon Sen, headmaster of Cox's Bazar Government High School, said families of Sakib and Shafin called him to inquire about the matter. But, the guardians of other two students did not inform anything about the matter.

Cox's Bazar Police Station officer in-charge Farid Uddin said, "No one came to us to lodge any complaint about students' missing.

However, the families fear that their boys might have been abducted in a planned way.
