BCL to eradicate illiteracy from country: Home Boss
Home Minister Asaduzzaman Khan on Saturday said if leaders and activists of Bangladesh Chhatra League worked for eradicating illiteracy then the country would be freed from illiteracy within a short time.
He came up with the remark at a campaign programe against illiteracy on the Dhaka University campus marking International Literacy Day. BCL organised the function where the home boss handed over books to rickshaw pullers and canteen boys.
The minister said, “BCL has been awarded the duty to work for eradicating illiteracy from the country and they are working on this and hope they will announce the country free from illiteracy within their targeted time.”
“I call the People to move across the country to see the development of the country which has been done under Sheikh Hasina government,” he added
He also said, “Whenever I go different countries in the world, there I’m not asked to stand in separate line for coming from Bangladesh, but peoples of many countries respect Bangladesh and ask the reason behind quick development of the county.”
With BCL President Rezwanul Haque Chowdhury Shovon in the chair, among others, AL advisory committee member Khandoker Bazlul Haque and BCL general secretary Golam Rabbani addressed the function.
