Disciplinary trial of Sabbir, Nasir, Mosaddek to be held today
Three cricketers of Bangladesh national cricket team Sabbir Rahman, Nasir Hossain and Mosaddek Hossain Shaikat had been alleged for off-field behavioural setback and hearing of the trio are set by the BCB's disciplinary committee today.
Sabbir caught the lime-light for his wrongheaded activities several times and the latest one is the social media outburst on a fan after the 2nd ODI between Bangladesh vs Windies last month. He was also axed from the national contract for assaulting fan during domestic first class season in December last year.
Sabbir misbehaved with peer cricketer Mehidy Miraz during Nidahas trophy in Sri Lanka few months ago, which rolled to physical. He also once appeared with girls on facebook page.
So, it can be assumed that BCB now going to hard line against Sabbir, who has been dropped from Asia Cup ODI squad. It happens for the first time after his ODI debut in 2014. He also flopped with the bat in almost his last one dozen innings.
Like Sabbir, the bad boy Nasir, became talk topics on couple of occasions, specially for illegal affairs. Recently, a girl called Shah Humayra Suba made some audio tapes public containing private conversation between Humayra and Nasir.
On this issue, BCB disciplinary committee called him for hearing. Nasir is out of national tent for the last couple of month for leg stint.
Middle-order Mosaddek Hossain Shaikat is the latest inclusion in ill-mannered list, though he has been kept in the final-15 for Asia Cup mission, who recently divorced his wife Sharmin Samira Usha. Usha, later on, filed a case in the Mymensingh Senior Judicial Magistrate Court no-1and alleged that Mosaddek tortured her and asked for bringing 10 lakh taka from her parents.
The BCB president Nazmul Hasan informed media recently that they (the three cricketers) are called for a hearing on September 1. "They were punished previously but it seems that they are not paying heed to alter their behaviour. So, we need to take stronger action,'' He said.
BCB has been considering appointing a psychologist for behavioural improvement of the cricketers. "We are thinking to appoint a psychiatrist to train them up on ethical issues," he informed. "Cricket Operations team already started working on it," Nazmul added.
He also informed that they are going to prepare some guidelines regarding the use of social media by cricketers. "But it's up to them (players), they have to be good by themselves, unless we must look for strict decisions," he warned.
Besides these three names, national pacer Rubel Hossain was arrested in 2015 for his 'Happy scandal'. Another fast bowler Shahadat Hossain also detained for torturing housemaid. Arafat Sunny and Mohammad Shahid are two more Bangladesh cricketers, who had been penalised for abusive actions against their female counterparts.
