Rohingya man shot dead

A Rohingya man was shot to death by miscreants at Leda Rohingya Camp in Teknaf upazila of Cox’s Bazar on Friday.

The deceased was identified as Md Yaser, 25, son of Md Islam. He used to work as a night guard of the camp.

Some unidentified miscreants shot Yaser in front of his room in the camp around 3 pm, leaving him critically injured, said Ranjit Kumar Barua, officer-in-charge of Teknaf Model Police Station, UNB reports.

Later, Yaser was taken to Leda Health Complex where the duty doctor declared him dead, he added.

Meanwhile, Leda Camp Chairman Abdul Matlab said Yaser might have been killed as he earlier helped police to seize huge quantity of Yaba tablets.

Members of the camp also said that Yaser used to work as a source to the local administration office.
