Minority group wants protection during national pools

Minority community expressed their concern about their security during upcoming national polls.

They pressed for seven-point demand, including establishing Minority Commission, Minority Ministry, 15 percent quota in al section including national assembly, 8 percent reservation in higher education and service for Dalit and excluded community, and forming separate Hindu Buddha and Christian foundation.

Minority Right Forum Bangladesh Trust organized a rally marking their fourth anniversary at Kirtonkhola auditorium on Friday.

Subroto Thakur, senior vice president, Matua Sangha, Engineer Manosh Kumar Mitra presided over the meeting and Mukul Ranjan Shikder president, minority Rights Forum, Utpol Biswas member Secretary of the Committee , Ranjit Dutta Nirod Baron Majumder, Mintu Kumar Mandal addressed the meeting.

`The violence increased against minority community and it happened huge when the national election held' speakers said.

`We demanded protection from government during national polls,' said Subroto Thakur, chief guest of the meeting.
