How is Bangladesh ICT Sector doing?
I have been observing its growth for the last 21 years;Bangladesh passed the first essential step when it developed Bangla font and keyboard.I think the real long lasting diversified benefit started when we enteredthe weband mobileenabled software development sector. The software firms are already contributing in local IT-enabled service fields, althoughI feel some crucial components aremissing in the approach and strategy of the local IT firms.
How can ICT Sector do well in future?
As I mentioned above, the "missing components" must be identified and taken care of properly for ensuring major success in IT sector for Bangladesh. We have to convert our constraints into our strength. We have adequate human resources with low wage/salary demand unlike many other countries. We just need to train them properly.
We are a densely populated small country, so for us working/learning together in a place is easy unlike other countries where people need to travel long distance for sitting together for a work/training, or else rely on online method etc.
Another suggestion is to establish Freelancing Station for the freelancers.
Oracle past, present and future?
I have worked for more than two decades exclusively using Oracle technology products and seen how it evolved from just a Database/Application software provider to a total HW/SW solution provider. For the IT professionals of Bangladesh Oracle products are a very good platform to start and establish career. No doubt the present and the future career with Oracle products are fabulous and I encourage IT resources of our country to be trained on Oracle products.
