2 schoolboys drown in Ramna Lake

Two ninth graders of Wills Little Flower of Dhaka's Kakrail area drowned in the Ramna Lake on Sunday.

Deceased Abdullah Al Mahfuz, was the son of Masud Rana of Kishoreganj, and Naimuzzaman Chowdhury Adnan, was the son of Hasanuzzaman Chowdhury of Noakhali district.

Mahfuz along with his family lived in Tejgaon Colony Bazar area while Adnan and his family live in Malibagh.

Arif Hossain, friend of the victims, told media that they went to Ramna Park at 12 noon dodging their classes.

Later, Mahfuz and Adnan went to take a bath in the lake at about 3pm, he said.

"Adnan drowned as he did not know how to swim. Mahfuz also drowned when he tried to rescue Adnan," said Arif.

After rescuing the students, local people rushed them to Dhaka Medical College Hospital where the on duty doctors declared them dead.
