A Dhaka court on Thursday rejected bail to 22 private university students and sent them to jail in two cases lodged over vandalism and attacks on police.

Dhaka Metropolitan Magistrate Satyabrata Shikder passed the order after police produced them before his court on expiry of their two-day remand, reports UNB.

Earlier on August 7, another Dhaka court placed them on the remand.

The accused are students of East West University, North South University, South East University and Brac University.

On Monday, students of the private universities clashed with police while demonstrating against the attack on students during their movement for safe roads in the city.
