Protesters set fire on cop's motorbike

A group of protestors set fire on the motorbike of a traffic police sergeant at Science Laboratory intersection in the capital on Thursday during students ongoing movement for safe roads.

According to a student of Eastern University, some agitating students stopped officer Bayezid and wanted to see his driving license, but he refused to do so and misbehaved with them

At one stage, the police sergeant pushed and shoved one of the students which angered other protesters.

As more protesters arrived, he tried to run for safety. The protesters then beat him, reports bdnews24.com.

After the injured officer was led away from the scene, the angry protesters set his motorbike on fire. The incident created tensions in the area, witnesses said.
