Hundreds of students blocked city’s business hub Motijheel area demanding the implementation of their nine point demands for safe roads.

Students of Notre Dame, Motijheel Model and Ideal colleges blocked the all link roads of Shapla Chattar creating standstill in that area. Agitators are chanting various slogans in favour of their demands. They also checking license of all vehicles of that area and not allowing driving without it.

Emon, second year student of Notre Dame College, said Home Minister’s words are not enough for their assurance on road safety. Protest will continue until the demands are not meet, he added.

In reply to question on logic of movement after the assurance from the government, Notre Dame College student Abrar Rahman Mihiar said, “We have no faith on ministers or governments words, earlier they made promise on quota issue but they not keep it. We want implementation of words.”

Aspia and Mumu, second year students of Motijheel Ideal School and college said, “Road crash claiming the lives of our brothers and sisters. Our Primer herself made commitment on quota issue but later broke it, how we can keep faith on Home Minister’s words.”
