Hundreds of college students blocked city’s business hub Motijheel area demanding justice for Uttara accident victims.

Students of Notre Dame and Motijheel Ideal and Model Colleges gathered at ‘Shapla Chattar’ at noon and blocked the all link roads putting up barricades and chanting slogans. No vehicles except emergency or medical service cars were allowed on roads.

The blocked created a standstill in the area where commuters were seen helpless due to lack of transports.

Protester Rafi, a second year student of Notre Dame College, said they won't leave the streets without implementation of their nine-point demand. "The Shipping Minister’s apology is not enough and we want clear outline from the government regarding an end to road accident."

Motijheel Ideal College student Saimon said “We don't want to see further death of our any brother or sister on the road. Shipping Minister must be quit. We'll stop the movement if our demands are met.”

A good numbers of female students were also seen in the demonstration.

Students of schools and colleges blocked the city streets protesting road accident for the fourth consecutive day on Wednesday.
