3 drivers give terrible info of driving without license

Three drivers are driving their bus holding the license of car drivers denying the obligation of being a professional license holder. Three of them are none but the mad racers of “Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan” buses which cause the tragic road accident on Airport road leaving two spot dead.

This awful information was revealed from the trio drivers after their arrest.

Rapid Action Battalion (Rab-1) arrested three bus drivers- Masum Billah, Jubair, Shuhag- with their two assistants-Enayet, Ripon-from Mirpur and Barguna.

However police yet to arrest the killer driver of the “Jabal-e-Noor Paribahan” bus.

Kazi Sahan Haque, officer in-charge of Cantonment police station, said killer driver yet to be arrested and will be caught at any time.

On Sunday, Diya Khanam Mim and Abdul Karim Rajib, students of Shaheed Ramiz Uddin School and College, were killed as a bus ploughed through some students in front of Kurmitola General Hospital on Airport Road.

Angered by the incident, students went on a rampage vandalising whatever buses they found before them, and they carried on the agitations for the whole day on Monday.

Rab handed over four accused to Cantonment police station and driver Masm Billah was in Rab custody till 3.00pm.

Senior Assistant Commissioner of Cantonment Zone Tapas Kumar Das said Rab handed over four people including two drivers to police station. They were sent to court seeking 10 days remand, he added.

According to source, driver Masum, Jubair and Shuhag have three non professional cards which issued by the Bangladesh Road Transport Authority (BRTC). This license approved for driving light vehicles not the heavies, said BRTC source.

Shitangsho Shekar Biswas, director (Operation) of BRTA, said non professional is not permitted for driving a heavy vehicle. If any accident occurred during heavy vehicle drive then the driver will be identified as non professional and necessary action can be taken against him as per law, he added.
