One more killed in 'shootout'

An alleged drug trader was killed in a gunfight with the members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) at Bochila area of capital Dhaka early Monday.

With this, the number of deaths stood at 209 across the country since May 12.

The deceased was identified as Rajon, 25.

On secret information that a gang of drug peddlers gathered in the area, a team of RAB conducted a drive there under Muhammadpur thana, RAB sources said.

Sensing presence of the team, the gang members opened fire on them, forcing them to fire back that triggered a gunfight which left Rajon dead on the spot.

RAB team also recovered arms, bullets and huge amount of hemp from the scene.
