NSU student Payel thrown from bridge

“Payel seemed to be dead after being hit by the running bus, and was thrown later from the bridge,” said Faisal, supervisor of Hanif Paribahan bus.
He made the revelation on Wednesday while giving confessional statement over death Payel, a BBA student of North South University (NSU), whose body was recovered from a canal in Munshiganj on 23 July, under164 section in a Munshiganj court.
Police on Tuesday night arrested bus driver Jalal, supervisor Faisal and assistant Jony over the killing.
Faisal confessed to his involvement in the incident after appearing in the court, said Hedayetul Islam, court inspector of Munshiganj.
“On 21 July a Dhaka bound Hanif Paribahan bus stopped in a traffic jam on Dhaka-Chittagong highway of Madanpur in Narayanganj in the night. Payel got down from the bus for urinating. He was hit by the bus while trying to get on the bus later. His nose and mouth was bleeding, and he collapsed on ground. Driver, supervisor and helper thought him as dead and threw him from bridge,” said Faisal.
Payel’s friend Saidur and Akimur were sleeping inside the bus during the incident. Payel put his cell phone on bus seat while leaving the bus. His mother Kohinor Begum informed about the missing of son after calling at his cell phone.
A case was filed by Payel’s family members over his missing with Bandar police station.
On 23 July police recovered Payel’s body from Bhober Char canal of Gajaria upazila in the morning.
