Export and import activities resumed at Bhomra Land Port in Satkhira after Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) withdrew its check posts.

Earlier, all organizations, including C&F Agent Association, stopped their export and import activities for six hours demanding the withdrawal of BGB check posts from the port area.

There is no scope of interference by any force in land port activities other than customs authorities according to Customs Act section no-9, said Kazi Nawshad Delwar Razu, president of Bhomra Land Port C&F Agents Association.

BGB made four check posts in the land port area since August, 2015.

Major Fazle Hasan, deputy commander of BGB battalion-33, said check posts were withdrawn considering the benefit of businessmen.
