Mother, daughter murdered in Ctg

CHATTOGRAM, July 15: Police recovered two female bodies from the reserve water tank of Meher Manzil in Ambagan area under Khulshi Thana on Sunday morning.
The deceased were identified as Meherun Nesa Begum, 67, former Rupali Bank Principal Officer and her 94-year-old mother Monowara Begum. Chattogram Metropolitan Police Assistant Commissioner (Bayezid Bostami Zone) Sohel Rana confirmed the news to the journalists.
He said Meherun lived on the ground floor of four-storied Merher Manzil while the remaining floors were under construction.
Confirmed bachelor Meherun Nesa has four brothers and four sisters, some of whom live abroad. The two lived alone at the residence. This morning a relative visiting the house found the door open and informed police after he could not find the victims. Receiving information police rushed to the scene and found the bodies in the reserve tank. Police suspect it is a planned murder and some valuables are missing from the spot.
Belal Uddin, grandson of Monowara Begum said, the building was constructed in 2006 and since then a group of local musclemen are trying to grab the place.
