Mizanur Rahman Aryan is one of the popular directors and script writers of television. He is popularly known for his dramas 'Boro Chele', 'Batch 27','Angry Bird', ' To Airport,' 'Let's Fly' and many more. Recently this Eid his telefilm, 'Buker Ba Pashe' has become the most viewed telefilm. He got both viewers and critical appreciation. Today he talks about his life and lifestyle with The Daily Observer.
How many of your dramas have been aired in this Eid?
This Eid-ul-Fitr, two dramas, 'Buker Ba Pashe' and 'Astha' have aired.
Usually, it is being seen that your works are either based on romance or family drama or both. So, do you have any plan to work in different genres?
Well I work for my viewers and my viewers are now accepting me as a romantic director. I always check viewers' reaction towards my works. Now they have understood my style of storytelling and my direction as well. So if I change my genre that might be disappointing for them. So currently, I am planning to make different type of romantic dramas, family dramas, and romantic-family dramas.
Planning for next Eid...
Will try to gift my fans and viewers three dramas, 'Probashi', 'Shok Shokti Hok', 'Facebook Charar Choyti Upay'.
Do you have any plans to make web series?
Actually if I make content particularly for YouTube or online streaming platforms, then the viewership will be limited. As a director I want my work to be a subject of storm in a cup. I want people talk about my works when they gossips with their friends. Not everyone has the access to internet. In sub-urban or rural areas, they are not much familiar with these things. So they mostly rely on television for entertainment. I have to think of those viewers as well. So I do not have such plans to make web series particularly for online platforms. My works will firstly be released on television and then it will be available on other platforms.
I hardly get spare time. But when I get, I usually read books and watch movies.
Forrest Gump, Children of Heaven, Monpura
Humayun Faridi, Asadujjaman Noor, Aamir Khan, Tom Hanks.
I love travelling. I like to stay close to the sea. And I love to see the sea in rainy season. Rain and sea make a good chemistry.
I was always a good student. But during my HSC examination I became very sick. On the day of my Physics exam I had high fever. When the final result came out I saw that I had obtained A+ in all my subjects but got a poor grade in Physics. I broke down as my dream for BUET became shattered. But then I came to know about this creative path. Gradually, I became interested in this field and started reading and watching movies more and more.
Please share your own story of struggle...
When I was a 1st year University student, my first drama had aired. I used to come home late at night. My parents scolded me and asked me what I was doing and why I used to come late every day. Then one day I left my house and stayed for a few days with my friends. Then after watching my second drama, they called me and requested me to come back. Now the posters of all my works have been framed and hanged on walls.
Message for the novice directors...
Remember that there will be struggle and hardships. Without struggle, the taste of your success won't be sweet. There is no short cut. You have to read and watch movies. People will taunt you and neglect your words but you should not pay heed to them. Passion is also very important.
