A man was critically injured in an internal clash of drug dealers in Kalaroa upazila of Satkhira early Thursday.

Chandanpur UP chairman Monirul Islam said Saiful was involved in drug trading for a long time. But he recently quit the illegal trade and, for this, his rivals wanted to punish him.

A gang of drug traders waylaid Saiful's motorcycle at Ramkrishnapur early hours of Thursday and hacked him indiscriminately, leaving him critically wounded.

Injured Saiful Islam, son of Sirajul Islam, was admitted to Kalaroa Hospital. Later he was shifted to a private clinic in Jashore following deterioration of his condition.
