Giving the Gift of Light hosted in New York

Liter of Light Bangladesh (LoLB), a Chittagong based social development initiative hosted its first event named 'Giving the Gift of Light' in New York, says a press release. LoLB is a part of Philippine based global community initiative Liter of Light (LL), initiated by Lights Foundation in Bangladesh.
Jahid Tanvir, Regional Manager of LoLB in United States said, "LL mainly promotes an easy-to-make lights made out of solar panel, lithium battery, PVC pipe and plastic bottle."
Shanjidul Alam Seban Shaan, Founder and Executive Director, LoLB, joined the session via Skype from Bangladesh. Bangladeshi US residents and Americans were present at the session. Organisers called for support and donation from the people to make the lights and distribute.
LL is available in more than 20 countries, around 100 non-profit organisations working to spread the idea. Research and Development team of the organisation made model of 5 versions of the light using locally available materials.
