CHITTAGONG, Feb 14 :  President of Chittagong Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) urged Road Transport and Bridges Minister  Obaidul Quader to upgrade the Chittagong-Rangamati-Khagrachari road to a four-lane highway.
Mahabubul ALam, President of CCCI in a letter urged the Minister to upgrade the highway as the numbers of tourists to the Chittagong Hill Tracts were falling gradually due to bad road condition since the deadly landslide that killed scores of people and destroyed the roads and infrastructures last year.
As the number of tourists started falling the local business and tourism have been affected badly throwing hundreds of vendors out of business.
Generally millions of tourists visit the picturesque spots in the Chittagong Hill Tracts that include Khagrachhari, Bandarban hill spots and the vast blue Kaptai lake in the Rangamati district.
