Six killed in road mishaps in 2 dists

At least six persons were killed and 15 injured in separate road accidents in two districts- Feni and Comilla, on Tuesday.
FENI: Three persons were killed and 15 others injured in a road accident on Dhaka-Chittagong highway at Samityr Bazaar in Muhuriganj area under Sadar Upazila here on Tuesday afternoon.
The identities of the victims could not be confirmed immediately. Police and eyewitnesses said a Chittagong-bound bus of Jonaki Paribahan collided with a sand-laden truck at the said area, leaving three killed on the spot and 15 injured.
Sub-Inspector of Muhuriganj police outpost Mahbub confirmed the accident.
Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mohipal Highway Police Station (PS) Abdul Awal said the bodies were recovered and sent to Feni Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsies.
COMILLA: At least three persons were killed in two separate road accidents in Daudkandi and Chowddagram Upazilas here on Tuesday.
The deceased were identified as Kamrul Islam, 20, son of Kamal Mia, of Yusufpur Village and Bayzid Mia, 22, son of Abdul Baten, of Kanora Village under Daudkandi Upazila, and Humayun Ahmed, 32, son of Wazid Mia, of Kalirbazar Village under Chowddagram Upazila.
Daudkandi PS OC Abu Salam Mia said motorcyclists Kamrul and Bayzid were going to Titas Upazila when, on the way, the motorbike skidded off the Gouripur-Homna road at Banchaboty area and fell into a nearby ditch about 3pm, leaving both dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered and sent the bodies to Comilla Medical College Hospital (CMCH) morgue for autopsies.
On the other hand, Chowddagram PS OC Abul Faisal said a Dhaka-bound truck hit a standing truck at Kalirbazaar in Chowddagram Upazila on Dhaka-Chittagong highway about 2:00pm, leaving the helper of the standing truck Humayun dead on the spot.
On information, police recovered and sent the body to CMCH morgue for an autopsy.
Two separate cases were filed with respective PS.
