GP declares global standard 4G internet

Michael Foley, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Grameenepohone (GP) on Tuesday voiced his commitment to implement the 4G internet service in the country.
"GP acquired 5MHz spectrum on 1800 band through the spectrum auction to implement global standard 4G internet network across the country. It will definitely improve the digitalization of Bangladesh" the CEO of the leading mobile telecom operator said this at a city hotel.
Bangladesh Telecom-munications Regulatory Commission conducted the auction at Dhaka Club where the rate was fixed at $31 million per megahertz (MHz), said Michael Foley.
GP CEO appreciated BTRC, Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology Ministry and the government for successfully concluding the spectrum auction and sought cooperation in rolling out a quality 4G network around the country.
"By facilitating the auction the government has taken a big step towards the Implementation of Digital Bangladesh. We hope it will also pave the way for a successful 4G rollout and ensure business viability by adopting rational policies. This additional spectrum combined with our technology neutral spectrum has placed Grameenphone on a firm footing to provide the best 4G experience as the most up-to-the-minute network in the country." said the GP CEO.
