BSF beat up 2 BD fishermen

Rajshahi : Members of Indian Border Security Force (BSF) allegedly beat up two Bangladeshi fishermen along Godagari border early Tuesday.

Injured Mizanur Rahman Mizan, 26, and Nishan Ali, 23, were admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH). Both hail from Bianabona village in the upazila.

BGB-1 Battalion Commander Lt Col Shamim Masud Al Iftekhayer said Mizan and Nishan went to catch fish in the Padma River near Kharchaka border on Monday night.

They mistakenly entered the Indian territory at about 2am that led to a scuffle with Indian fishermen.  

Later, the BSF men picked up the duo, severely beat them up and freed this (Tuesday) morning.

On returning home, the injured fishermen fist got admitted to Godagari Health Complex and then shifted to the RMCH.
