Royal Bengal Tiger beaten to death

Villagers beat a Royal Bengal Tiger to death at Gulishakhali in Morelganj upazila on Tuesday morning.

 

Md Mahmudul Hasan, East Sundarbans divisional forest officer (DFO) said the tiger entered the village crossing the Bhola river and attacked local farmer Masud, 30, while he was working at his paddy field around 7am.

 

Hearing his scream, locals rushed in and beat up the tiger, leaving it dead, reports UNB.

 

At least six people were injured while saving Masud from the grip of the tiger.

 

On information, a team of forest officials recovered the carcass.
