Moin Uddin reappointed BREB Chair
Major General (Retd) Moin Uddin has been appointed as the chairman of Bangladesh Rural Electrification Board (BREB) on contractual basis for more three years.
He went on usual retirement as the BREB chairman on December 31, 2017, says a press release on Saturday.
Moin Uddin was born at an aristocrat Muslim family of Khushipur village at Daganbhuiyan upazila in Comilla.
He obtained BSC (Engineering) degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from BUET and joined Bangladesh Army in 1984. He gained commission as lieutenant on December 20 1984.
Moin Uddin worked in Bangladesh Army as command, staff and trainer.
He also served as head of Electrical, Electronic and Communication Engineering Department and as dean of Military Institute of Science and Technology.
He worked at UN Iraq-Kuwait mission in 1994-95 and UN Congo Peacekeeping Mission in 2005-2006.
Moin Uddin was promoted as Brigadier General on July 25, 2011 and as Major General on November 29, 2015.
He joined the BREB as its chairman on October 24, 2011. During his tenure, the number of BREB subscribers has reached 2, 12, 000, 00 from 74, 000, 00 while the system loss has been decreased to 9.59 percent from 16.64 percent.
