In her speech, Dr. Kopila Gupta, was talking about the theme of this year, "All these years, all of us have been trying to let the world know of IW and its activities, so when I was thinking over to give a theme for 2017 -18, I thought such a theme which each member would understand as to why I have chosen it. Although it's the 94th year of existence and 50th year of the formation of the International Inner Wheel worldwide and myself being 50th IIW president, yet, even our nearest have not heard of our organisation."
The theme of IIW 2017-18: "Leave a lasting legacy"-is planned in such a way that you leave a lasting legacy to promote IW.
"The theme 'leave a lasting legacy' itself says that throughout the year we should work towards publishing and strengthening our organization existence. Let the world around you, your friends and family know of the services IW is doing for the needy and that it is one of the largest women's services and organisations."
"We all need to remember, feel that we have contributed something to our organisation by contributing to the world around us. Your legacy is putting your stamp on the future of your organization. It's a way to make some meaning of your existence," she stated.
She urged to all the members, "Please bring in one new member to expand our organization."
"IW gives an opportunity as well as a platform to give back to society and contribute a little to make it better. In addition, we get an opportunity to make new friends and promote friendship around us. This is why you would have a bouquet of new and old friends to share their knowledge, happiness and sorrows."
Sharmin Hossain, chairman of Inner Wheel District 345 of Bangladesh, said, "With every conference we take steps to strengthen our organization to a great deal.  Today from this conference all the members come closer and enable them to thrash out important issues on a common platform."
"Our network of members is growing and our loving district 345 is a new dimension and a winsome popularity with more than 700 members. We have to see that the bond of friendship also grows stronger with every passing day. Each and every member is a powerhouse within oneself and building a unique support link in strengthening this wonderful organisation," she added.
She stated "The theme of this year IW "Leave a lasting legacy" indicates that there is no limit to imagination or creativity. Let us open our heart and mind to endless opportunities that lie ahead. By working honestly we can be proud of being a member of our wonderful organisation."
Nahida Nawaz, national representative Inner Wheel of Bangladesh, said, "We all the members of IWD 34 are grateful, to the founder of district 345, Dilruba Ahmed.
