E-hospital is a digital healthcare system which has been launched to reach out to the patients belonging to the villages in remote areas. In E-Hospital, experienced doctors serve patients through their developed mobile app and skype video calls at minimal costs.
Dr Moniruzzaman Khan Asst. Professor of North South University has established this e-hospital. He said, "The purpose of the digital initiative is to serve the people of Bangladesh. We have received government support, hopefully more people will take this service."
He said, "Patients can talk directly to a doctor using this service. The doctors also prescribe medicines according to the problem identified. Smart, low-cost medical devices are used for examining physical problems. Examination reports from the medical centers are sent directly to Dhaka. The doctor sees the report and gives advice to the patient with the help of the mobile app."
"Now four medical centers in Gopalganj have started in different villages. Already 3 thousand people are taking services from e-hospital," concluded Dr Khan.
