Ex-BNP MP Mozahar Ali of Joypurhat dies

Former BNP MP from Joypurhat-1 constituency Mozahar Ali Pradhan, also its district unit president, died at a hospital in the district town on Friday afternoon at the age of 69.
The BNP leader, who had long been suffering from kidney ailments and diabetes, was taken to Joypurhat Adhunik Sadar Hospital in the afternoon as he fell ill and he was declared dead on arrival, reports UNB.
He left behind two wives, three sons, two daughters and a host of relatives and well-wishers to mourn his death.
Mozahar was elected MP from Joypurhat-1 constituency in 2008. He was also the president of Joypurhat BNP since 1997.
The BNP leader will be buried at his family graveyard in the district town after Namaz-e-Janaza at Joypurhat Collectorate Ground around 2 pm on Saturday.
Meanwhile, BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia and its Secretary General Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir expressed their profound shock at his death, UNB said.
They prayed for salvation of the departed soul and conveyed their sympathy to the bereaved family members.
