Four BCL leaders expelled, committee dissolved

RAJSHAHI, December 07: Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL) dissolved the Rajshahi Institute of Health Technology (IHT) unit committee and expelled its
four leaders following the Wednesday's attack on female students.
The expelled leaders are IHT Unit BCL President Zahidul Islam, General Secretary Anwar Hossain and Vice-President Faisal Ahmed and Mizanur Rahman.
Rajshahi City BCL President Rocky Kumar Ghosh confirmed this on Wednesday night. He said that the central committee expelled the four leaders and dissolved the 51-member IHT Committee. Earlier, the Institute of Health Technology (IHT) was declared closed for an indefinite period following an attack on female students by the Chhatra League activist on Wednesday.
Rajshahi IHT Principal Sirajul Islam gave this announcement on Wednesday morning after the attack incident. To avoid all unwanted incidents the authorities took this decision and closed the dormitories for indefinite period. At least five female students were injured when the Chhatra League activists attack on students of the college campus around 11am.
The injured were identified as Rupa, 19, daughter of Atia Rahman of Bagha upazila and a second year student of Pharmacy Department of the college, Naznin Akterm 18, daughter of Amzad of Badolgachi under Naogaon district and a second year student of Pharmacy Department, Nishat, 18, Mohona, 18, both were the first year student of Lab Department, Arefin Sharmin,18, Bristy, 19. All of them admitted to Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH).
